March 14: Author visit to The British School of Paris

March 15: Author visit to Westborough High School in Dewsbury as part of the Huddersfield Literature Festival

March 16: Creative writing session at Huddersfield University as part of the Huddersfield Literature Festival

March 21: Waterstones Children’s Book Prize 2013. I am very excited that Ketchup Clouds has been nominated in the teen category. Fingers crossed!

March 23 (am): Federation of Children’s Book Groups’ Annual Conference 2013. Marcus Sedgwick and I will be discussing our latest books, Ketchup Clouds and Midwinterblood, at 9 am. Book signing to follow.

March 23 (pm): Oxford Literary Festival. Sally Gardner and I will be interviewed by Nicolette Jones regarding our new books, Ketchup Clouds and Maggot Moon, at 6 pm. Book signing to follow.

March 26 – 27: Bologna Children’s Book Fair. A dinner with my foreign publishers, kindly organised and hosted by Orion.

April 12: Author visit to a school in Zaragoza, Spain.

April 23: Author visit to Woldgate College in East Riding, followed by a Read Regional event at The Pocela Centre in Pocklington at 6 pm.

April 24: Read Regional event at Mirfield Library at 7.30 pm.

April 25: The Branford Boase Award. As last year’s winner, I will be helping to pull together the shortlist of books.

May 1: Sheffield Hallam Masterclass. I will be talking about my first book, My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece, to students on the MA Writing Course.

May 8 – 10: Madrid. A series of promotional events organised by my Spanish publisher, Siruela.

June 4: Orion Author Evening at The Radisson Blu Edwardian, Manchester. Presentations by me, Alan Gibbons, Lauren St John and Kate Pankhurst.

June 6: The Branford Boase Award. Judging of the winner!

June 28 – July 2: Chicago. A series of promotional events organised by my American publisher, Little Brown. Details to be confirmed.

July 11: The Branford Boase Award prize ceremony.

August 22 – 23: Edinburgh Festival. Details to be confirmed.

September 17: Author visit to The Morley Academy to start off my work as the school’s Patron of Reading!
