I am currently writing my second novel, working title Ketchup Clouds. The first draft’s nearing completion and I’m very excited about it. It’s set in York and narrated by a fifteen year old girl called Zoe (though this could change when the redraft starts). Read my blog to find out more and to follow its progress.
My first novel, My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece, has been published in lots of different countries around the world. Check out the promotional trailer made by the lovely people at Orion and look out for extra information about the characters, drafts of the book and other titbits to be added soon.
My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece
Published by Orion in the UK on 1st March 2011
Ten-year-old Jamie hasn’t cried since it happened. He knows he should have – Jasmine cried, Mum cried, Dad still cries. Roger didn’t, but then he is just a cat and didn’t know Rose that well, really.
Everyone kept saying it would get better with time, but that’s just one of those lies that grown-ups tell in awkward situations. Five years on, it’s worse than ever: Dad drinks, Mum’s gone and Jamie’s left with questions that he must answer for himself.
This is his story, an unflinchingly real yet heart-warming account of a young boy’s struggle to make sense of the loss that tore his family apart.
